Christian Roberts Foundation 2024 Scholarship Program

The Christian Roberts Foundation is pleased to announce the 2024 Christian Roberts Foundation Scholarship Program. The purpose of the Scholarship is to support students who have lost a loved one to gun violence. The Program is available to graduating seniors currently in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia areas.  Two (2) scholarships are available for award to eligible students. Each award will be in the amount of $2,500.

Program Eligibility & Requirements:

1. The applicant must be a graduating senior in a DC, Maryland, or Virginia high school to be competitive.

2. The applicant must be on pace to graduate in the class of 2024, with a verifiable record of non-school sponsored volunteer work in the community and participation in extracurricular school activities.

3. The applicant must plan to attend an accredited two (2)-year community college, four (4)-year college/university, or trade school. It is anticipated that scholarship funds will be distributed to the awardees during the month of October 2024, contingent upon the Christian Roberts Foundation receiving an official certificate of enrollment for the fall semester from the college or university.

4. The applicant must submit a 250-500 word essay centering on how gun violence has impacted their lives as well as their community.

5. Applications must be received by the Christian Roberts Foundation Scholarship Committee no later than August 31, 2024, 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Late applications will not be accepted.

The scholarship applications will be reviewed, and recipients selected, by the Christian Roberts Foundation Scholarship Committee. The Scholarships will be awarded to the recipients at the Christian Roberts Foundation Sneaker Ball Gala in October 2024.
