Who We Are

In 2019, our son Christian Roberts was tragically killed by an act of senseless gun violence. Christian had a heart for serving others and loved working with people  from all walks of life and from many different backgrounds. He was passionate about philanthropic efforts which included collecting and distributing clothing to the homeless, organizing shoe drive campaigns, and soliciting the assistance of his family and friends to distribute donated shoes to the homeless community. Christian helped with assembling food packages at local food banks and delivered food baskets to the homeless and low-income communities. He also helped build damaged homes after Hurricane Katrina. Christian loved children and volunteered at children camps, his local church, and at his high school where he helped teach children basketball skills. Christian was most known for his generosity, magnetic personality, and willingness to assist others in need. His accomplishments were remarkable until his life ended tragically at the age of 24.

A parent is never prepared to hear the words “ Your son has been killed.” The pain
is unimaginable and most times unbearable. In the midst of trying to cope with the
loss of Christian, we found the strength to turn our pain into purpose. We strive daily to keep Christian’s legacy alive. We are determined that he will not be defined by the wrong that was done to him but by the kindness and compassion that radiated from him. The Christian Roberts Foundation was established to continue doing what Christian loved -- sharing, caring, giving, and encouraging the less fortunate.

The Christian Roberts Foundation’s mission is to assist in efforts to provide for the homeless community and to support victims of gun violence. We serve as a support group by assisting in coping with grief and providing a helping hand during their time of need. It’s our goal to ensure they feel supported and know they are not alone.

Our programs include providing scholarships to students that have been affected by gun violence to ensure that they continue striving for higher education. We also provide shoes and toiletries to homeless and low-income men, women and children.
